  1. Is there a show going in that area? I don't live too far away.
  2. If thing go as planned I should take delivery of the Windsor this weekend ! First order of business is to sort out the overheating issue. Having searched and read a few posts I think I will need to replace the water dist. tube along with the freeze plugs. Since this is the only issue with proper running of the engine I would like to do this without removing the motor. I know that the radiator and water pump will need to be removed but what else need to come off to gain access and clearance to remove the tube? Tips from those that have done it this way would be appreciated. TIA Henri
  3. None of us here would disagree that our hobby is expensive and disgressionary spending. Very few in our hobby make money on the sale of our cars. How many ads do you see where the seller is claiming that they have more in the car than they are asking? What he fails to understand is that we buy parts, insurance, tow trucks, cross country shipping and labor for repairs; all taxed and generating revenue for other businesses. We also attend shows where we buy gas, hotel rooms, food, entry fees that support charities, and other entertainment while at shows. In fact there is a professor at Ole Miss that did a study on cars shows and the amount of money they pump into the local economies. Tax the cars and a lot of these will end and I am sure that what we do now generates more downstream revenue for the government than the proposed tax.
  4. Thanks, It is in great shape. Only bad spot is on the body along where the trunk closes. Most of what needs to be done is freshening up. There are few electrical things and the cooling system needs work. From what I have been able to find out here I believe it to be an issue with the water distribution tube. I can't wait to take delivery and start to work. BTW, I am in Central MS.
  5. I was able to get a couple of photos. Here is my yet un-named project.
  6. Thanks for all the information. I do plan to stay on here, I have found lots of good tips and the more the merrier! I am planning on keeping the car close to original but it will be getting seat belts, disk brakes and ignition improvements at a minimum.
  7. I found this site while researching a Windsor that I Wasserstein looking to buy and found it very helpful as they are "kissing cousins.". Now I have sealed the deal on the '48 and was wondering if there was a site specific to the Chryslers. Any help would be appreciated.
