  1. Nope, mine was MoPar and the relay was marked as ASD in the drawings. Maybe you don't have to worry about it with Ford PCM. My starter spinned ok but engine refused to run without that relay connected. I just remember it did not make any sense to me when looking at the schema back then, but trial and error just got me pass it finally. Somehow the PCM stayed at shutdown mode without the relay. Maybe the PCM sensed resistance or some other signal that was not up to the par with direct wire without the relay.
  2. Looking good. When I was doing my wiring for the PCM I remember the automatic shut down relay being part I did not include at first and that prevented the startup. Added the stock relay and badabing it was alive. For some reason it couldn't be bypassed as my initial thought was. Not a biggie after I got it figured out. So my suggestion is, locate and include that into your harness for PCM input.
  3. Heres more pics of our local show today http://public.fotki.com/LancerSTW/oulu-show-2013/
  4. Here we go gents, the bird is ready and in the local show as we speak
  5. A day well spent with reconditioning the taillight BEFORE AFTER
  6. Thanks Mark and everybody. It's a Triumph motorcycle color actually, shows all the curves really nice in real life, and truly pops out on edges when the light hits. Just what I wanted. Professional work for a month was really worth it, those looooong panels are laser straight
  7. After a month paint is done. Pics don't do justice of my fresh candy but boy it's just what I was looking for. I just cant wait to get back to garage installing all the chrome back, new whitewalls, new seals etc.
  8. Trip to painter has started, this time I'm not painting it myself. I have to admit that I have never faced such a hard time to decide the color, but boy did I find a nice shade by the end of the day. You'll judge my choice when it's done. I just received new whitewalls, and ordered a ton of new gaskets and chrome. There's no doubt it will be ready for summertime.
  9. First two layers came easily off with heatgun and spatula, I didn't use that method into roof at all to avoid heating the headliner, and on the other hand one has to be really careful not to overheat the sheetmetal too. Large areas may warp. The rest with portable rpm polishing machine and 3M paint/rust strip discs which do not eat metal at all. All together I counted eight layers of paint. Roughly 30 hours of elbow grease.
  10. Thank you for the tip fellows
  11. Hey Mark, I will. This puppy really gets me going, took the whole 15 minutes to weld all the rust I found. Easier than I ever excpected. Whats Redi-rad?
  12. Gotta agree with the interior, someone really put effort into design back then. Harold, that's priceless! Occasionally AM receives signal from Russia, but theres no real use for the radio. I think one could rebuild it to receive FM but thats too pricey I assume, so hidden FM/CD/MP3 player is my route. The plan is to build an "elevator" for it under the dash if there's enough room, or just put the unit into trunk and use remote control.
  13. This is really one of the easiest projects I've had, and I've had plenty. No rust, all parts there, interior is already redone with black leather, tagged to Finland and technically a ok. Waiting for the summer already. The amount of details is jaw dropping in cars of this era, at least after D-24.
  14. Hi guys Two weeks ago I bought this 1960 bird with originally equipped 430 cid and cruise-o-matic. I just found out that only 4.3% of the production was set up like this. This puppy was imported from CA in 2004. I'm preparing it for repaint, all the way to bare metal just to be sure there's no surprises. I found couple small dents and only one dime size rust spot. Amazing. Sorry it's not Mopar this time, but surely a model that everybody has an opinion;) I'm struggling with the color really, I'm not even sure whether to go two-tone or not.
  15. Thanks for the invite Mark, actually we are planning for a month in states again next year but let's see how things roll, depends on work as always. My wish is to tour around, family wants to stay in Orlando again. I have always something going on in the garage, but this I wouldn't call a "replacement" for Dodge, rather an forced trade for my Harley and now I've been trying to get rid of it. http://www.nettiauto.com/pontiac/fiero/5015307 Really nice car but I have no use for it. I just painted it lowered it and changed the wheels, Fiero has been my daily user for the summer. I want '58 Edsel next but from now on I'm keeping my fleet in one vehicle at a time so this has to go first. Then it's time for ebay and craigslist...
  16. Glad to see you made it home allright Mark, although what a shame we didn't have chance to meet f2f. Can you folks believe we were like 10 miles from each other... But I was working and he had tight schedule so things didn't work out, and then I left to Hungary in the middle of the week. Close but no cigar Pekka, I've been outta this forum so long that I don't even know the details of your build, what color did you choose? Any modifications or are you keeping it stock? Have you noticed btw. that my old D-24 has been for sale elsewhere quite a long http://www.nettiauto.com/dodge/club-coupe/4614306
  17. Welcome to Finland Mark, it sure needs to get warmer already! We've had a lousy weather for too long. Hopefully we find a spot to meet, I'll be in (Alahärmä) Powerpark amusement with kids for this weekend, then working mon-thu 8 - 4 p.m and heading to Budapest early morning Fri 3th of August with wifey.
  18. Usually the decent worldwide shippers also have great deals with freight companies for US inland road transportation, like 50 cents a mile or so. I have imported four vehicles from states and all of them needed some trucking to harbour, and my shipping agent handled that part as well. Sweden is full of quality operators, tell the guy to ask for a tip from a local forum there, since theres also couple of known clowns ripping money there.
  19. I will PM you Mark. Correct, I did sell it to southern Fin and built another HD in between, sold that after summer and now I'm modifying an Pontiac Fiero. Who knows what I'm building when you arrive :-)
  20. Mark, gimme a howl when in Oulunsalo it's like 5 miles from my house. I've sold my D-24 but theres always something going on over the hobby here. Welcome to Finland!
  21. Small world, for 16 years Nokia has been my employer too;)
  22. How cool is that Mark! My home is 5 miles from Oulunsalo airport, in a tiny village called Tupos.
  23. Always something in mind but this year my HD will be the victim and sees the axe. I'm spending next june in FL with family, let's see if something follows me home from that trip. But nothing is granted, my job is threatened now third year in a roll so things may change quickly. On drag racing side our team switches over to Top Alcohol dragster so that pretty much consumes plenty of my time during the summer, along riding my bike.
  24. Actually my former car, I sold it last autumn:(. It's still reciding in my garage though, I have made some further improvements for the new owner. Clutch is now hydraulic operated instead of linkage, installed new balljoints etc. minor updating. Thanks for the thumbs up anyways fellows.
