  1. Wow !!! Those are really nice. I've sent similar stuff to Bob Koch over on the Pilot House side of the forum and he made scans for the Dodge Pilothouse Era Truck Club site. Give him a try.
  2. I was just discussing this with my older brother last week. He still believes the myth and I don't. He's an old duffer though......7 years older than I am.
  3. Make sure your battery is fully charged and that the engine isn't flooded with gas. Try some starting fluid maybe. or...Pull one of the spark plugs. Reconnect the plug wire and make sure the plug has a good ground. Have someone turn it over so you can see if the plug is sparking.
  4. My 40 Plymouth was listing about that much on the drivers side rear. I installed an air shock on that side only and it's very level now.
  5. Eric, mine was a 33 Plymouth. I too had a secret compartment for refreshments. The car had a battery box lid on the back seat floor so I made a small ice chest and hung it under the lid. The coppers never did catch us. Bad Boys,Bad Boys.
  6. Yes....very neat story. I wish I still had my first car too. All I have now is a photo of it and lots of fond memories. Some of which were made in the back seat.
  7. Sorry.....no extra bezel
  8. Here's a photo of my 57 1 ton with a 9' box. I think these fenders were used from 53 up until the late 70's or longer.
  9. Well in this case it's not a spray plane. He's out on a pleasure flight. In fact he just went over again as I am typing this.
  10. I'm in the market for a 9' high sided box for a COE project. Anyone have one available?
  11. "Reg, for how long does he impede your view for how many days a week? I'd say you've got bragging rights; if you're going to be impeded by anything anytime it may as well be by an aviation Icon, imho." Randy, I do have to admit that the little yellow plane buzzing my house 2 or 3 times a week bothered me more until I discovered who was piloting it. Sorry to hear about your father.
  12. Well Pat.............The old codger flies over my house (way too low) about 3 times a week and he's always got the pedal to the metal to gain altitude to clear my house after diving down 200' into the valley (my local view)where he lives. I guess I should just say to my adrenal gland......hey ....it's OK gland......he's a celebrity and an experienced test pilot.
  13. Good idea Greg ! I don't have the parts to make a potato cannon but I could jack up the rear ends of all my old cars and jam a spud in each exhaust pipe. I'm sure I could enlist the help of some of the other irritated neighbors so we can fire them up all at once when we hear him acomin.
  14. I think I saw that one on You Tube. 20' + wing span . I'm kinda liking the 50 caliber idea. Maybe throw a little flack up there too. He's so low I could just throw some old dodge parts up into his prop.
  15. You got it! It's that test dummy Chuck Yeager. All the wrong stuff in my air space.
  16. Hey....wouldn't that be something to get this famous pilot in trouble with the FAA.
  17. Actually I know who it is. There's a clue in my earlier post. He's a neighbor and he likes to fly over his house which is near mine. Sometimes as he is pulling up out of one of his dives he's only about 100' above my roof.
  18. This guy is always dive bombing my house and dropping down just above the tree tops out in my view and disturbing my sound barrier.
  19. Speaking of getting older and retiring. Lately I'm being asked if I would like the Senior Discount I will turn 59 in 7 more days and being asked If I would like a 65 year olds discount always surprises me Just the other day while paying for my ticket at our local fair a 70 year old lady asked again. Darn.....I thought I might look like a spring chicken to her. Rode hard and put away wet I guess. I'm still a kid at heart though.
  20. Yeah Brad....or I could just throw the steakes on the Hot Tin Roof.
  21. AH....I love the sound of a loud horn in the mornin. This very quiet all electric patio boat would only go about 5 mph so I over compensated for that with a pair of air horns. I cut the trumpet tubes and added a length of copper pipe to each of them for a lower tone. It sounded like the Queen Mary. Most passengers would toss their drink or have to change their shorts unless I warned them first. The Devil made me do it.
  22. Yeah....ya can't always trust what's stamped on the rear end. I recently sold a 49 Dodge coupe that I installed a 3.55 ring and pinon in. The case is stamped 4.11. I told the new owner but he wasn't too interested so if he sells .....the gear change info will probably not be passed along.
  23. " I haven't painted mine yet, but I have roller painted the truck with amazing results." Any photos you can share here with us ?
