  1. Reg,let me know if you need a new pb booster. I have one that came with a 55 DeSoto I bought several years ago that had what I was told was a NOS PB booster and mastercylinder in the trunk. A guy I know that is a total Mopar freak tells me it was optional for DeSoto and Chrysler in 55,and very rare.

Have no idea if it is the same as the 56 or not,but if you are interested, let me know and I will sell it for considerably less than the 500 bucks that guy told me was a good buy price.

This guy is a skinny little geek that looks like a meth head down on his luck, but he has got some **** you have to see to believe, including an original 58 Chrysler convertible with the FI 392. Supposedly only 14 were made, and all of them but two were converted to dual quads after the recall.

He also has two 56 NY'er with standard shift from the factory.

Guy is dumb as a fence post about everything but 50's Mopars. Not even interested in anything else. Someone offered him a free 33 Plymouth coupe that had a 392 in it and had been sitting in a barn for 20 years, and he pulled the engine and sold the coupe to a junkard.

Ask him about a 50's Mopar part, and he can quote the parts number off the top of his head, though. Has a BUNCH of stuff, but drives a 73 half-ton Dodge 4x4 pu that is beat all to hell from running a half-mile up the unmaintained track he calls a road. He never drives any of them because he doesn't want anybody seeing and stealing them. Also,I suspect he doesn't want to pay taxes on them. He inherited a big ass farm and lets people share crop it,so he doesn't really give a damn about anything other than pleasing himself. If you are not talking about old cars, specifically 50's and early 60's Mopars,he has no interest in anything you are talking about. Guy is only in his 30's,too.

Only reason I know about him is I am friends with a 80 year old restorer and former drag racer that was friends with his father and grandfather.

His wife is pretty weird, too. Wears mens Sears work pants and shirts, and IIRC,collects and shows "show goats". I didn't even know there was such a thing. She got into the show goats because they raise and sell some sort of purebred horses, and for some reason horses love goats.

And here you were thinking all the strange people lived in Ca!

  2. Hello I was referred to you from Neil Riddle. I'm just over the hill here in Reno. Never have done a Phymouth before so I'm a little inexpearinced on these cars. My build is a 1950 Phymouth Suburban. I want to put in a 1953 Chrysler 264 flathead. My question is on what flywheel and bell housing to use. The donor came with the clunker type trans. I have a 3 speed overdrive that I want to use. Will the parts from the 23 fit on the 25? If not can you be so kind as to point me in the right direction. Thank you for your time.

      Hi there,

I'm going to pass you along to Don Coatney on this forum.  He installed a 251 in his 46-48 Plymouth to replace the 218.
