  1. Had it on EvilBay, no bites. Out of a Cranbrook, not sure what year. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140501388301&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEUSX%3AIT email me at twoidiotsavants@gmail.com if anyone is interested.
  2. depends on where you want to put them. You dont need gr 8 on fender bolts, but they can be helpful on certain applications. you can get grade 8 fairly reasonably priced at Tractor Supply, by the pound.
  3. I am digging it in a sort of Christine or Maximum Overdrive way....
  4. I have a Knox 3/4 trailer I picked up at a garage sale. Tough old guy, from the late 40s. If anyone is looking, its just taking up space...
  5. we gotta have pictures of the Polara, that sounds so cool....
  6. Ahh...if only closer.....
  7. I have a stake bed, in decent shape; was just trying to see if I could round up enough parts to do a concept I had, a 126" express truck with a 4x4 conversion using Power Wagon components.
  8. Anybody know where I can find a decent 126" wheelbase bed?
  9. Anyone ever use a luminescent coating? That would help illuminated those somewhat dimmly lit gauges.
  10. Toyota inline six cylinders are torqey engines, long long life span if cared for properly (I had one go to 300+ K) and are Chebby based from the old stovebolt, so they are pretty simple to work on, esp the carb models. The later TC models can have head gasket problems, but still a decent engine. IHC makes a small 2.5 liter diesel that would be cool in our trucks, but they are hard to find.
  11. Along with a 1950 version of an International, a Ford and a GMC....cool article. Does the Dodge belong to anyone here?
  12. Anybody have a (or know of) a one ton box (123 in w/b) within reasonable distance of OKC?
  13. thank you Don. could not see in my manual if it was or not. still taking the pan off tomorrow, but at least I dont have to go parts hunting.
  14. Drained the oil tonight in my slow process of getting farm truck running. Stuck my finger up in the oil pan drain hole to see if I could feel crud in there, not any I could feel, but I felt what I suppose is the oil pump pickup. It was sitting very close to the bottom of the pan and when I moved it, it moved freely, in an arc upward. Is this pickup supposed to be a swinging pickup? or is this a mess?
  15. It turned over!!!!!!!! Farm truck is waking up! Headlights and tail lights turn on too!! (insert happy dance here) New battery from Tractor Supply, an Exide brand 6V part number COM-1H-P, 750 cca. Fits very well..... Too darn hot to do much, but I did do that today. More fun tomorrow morning, when its only in the 80s....
  16. cool...I had a 1/2 ton Carryall for a while. One of those "never should have parted withs"
  17. My 51 sat since the early 80s, albeit in a barn with the plugs in. I filled the cylinders with a combination of ATF & MMO and let it soak for two months before I tried to turn it. Lsst weekend, I put a wrench on the crank nut and turned it full cycle. Patience is a must have when dealing with engines that have sat for a while, don't want to get butch and break something.....
  18. has anyone tried swapping in different brakes, say like from a 3/4 ton or a later model (70-80s)? That would take care of the drop rim problems and make brakes easier to do on these old guys.
  19. I was at Tractor Supply today buying feed and looked around teh tractor parts section. Sure enough, I found a screen & gasket set for an Allis Chalmers tractor that fit. The screen needed center hole made a bit bigger, but it's all done now. Tractor Supply Co Part Number 0237055
  20. no filter in the bowl, but there is supposed to be a brass screen at the top, in the pump.
  21. Cleaning up and getting my fuel pump ready to put back on my 51. I need the round cork gasket that the glass fuel bowl sits on.
  22. Taking my time, Joel. Still have to do fuel system, won a new fuek pump on Ebay and want to clean out the tank too. Radiator going to shop Monday for check n clean (Osborne's)
  23. lol, that was snake truck, the B2C, he's gone to a bright young man who is going to restore him. No snakes in this truck though I did find a snake skin forward of the radiator today
  24. Well after a couple of months of soaking with MMO and ATF, I finally put a wrench on the crank nut of Farm Truck and it will turn 360 degrees! Yeah! Now, tomorrow, I'll hook up a 6 volt to it and turn it a couple of times. I'll drop th epan and clean teh sludge then look to seeing if FT will start....
  25. Well, after a little research, it turns out to be a Rochester Model B carb (pretty appropriate for a B Model Dodge eh?). I soaked it overnight in Berryman's and rebuilt it today. I'll let you know how it works. NAPA has the rebuild kit; this carb in one form or another was used from '38 to '70.
