  1. What brand, and type of paint were you using? Here in Canada, the government has followed California in their rules of low VOC paint. The good stuff that was easy to use is gone, replaced by crap in my humble opinion...not good for the do it yourself crowd that is for sure....
  2. My panel also had a bench seat out of something when I got it...looked for some original seats, but what I found was way over priced for my liking....I have a set of buckets and mounting towers from an early 70's Dodge van that I think I can make work...won't be original, but should look ok.
  3. I sent you a site that you should be able to decode your engine.....
  4. Creston BC, 5 miles above the Idaho/BC border....25 miles from Bonners Ferry.
  5. How about Lethbridge or Medicine Hat?
  6. Sounds like a heck of an idea....go for it!
  7. I would think the wires on the diff would be for the rear anti-lock brakes. Not needed really.
  8. The more Mustangs, Camaros, and T-Birds, means more cash in the pocket for Craig Jackson......even Tuesday when the "lower level" vehicles crossed, I thought they were high compared to last year. I would like to see the spectacle in person one day though....
  9. With enough home made wine taken daily,it would almost pass....but there ain't enough wine I think.....
  10. I may as well jump in his hood ornament discussion...I have an ornament that has fairly large horns, and has a part number of 1450249. After reading the prior discussions, saying the part number was a "6" and not a "0", I went and really cleaned up the number and it sure looks like a 0 to me.....it was in a box of parts I got years ago. Just curious that's all......
  11. 1953 Fargo FP7...19000 lbs. 126 NET horsepower at 3600 RPM and 135 Gross horsepower at 3600 RPM. That is the engine going in my '49 Fargo Panel. 265, dual carb / exhaust. I didn't see it listed on your list.
  12. Picked up my copy today...well worth the money....thanks for making it happen!
  13. Still waiting....should not be too long now.......
  14. So which book is it that is being re-printed? The one with the '57 Swepty, or the one with the big stake truck on the front? I am confused....(don't take much to do so)......
  15. I got my sodium's off of eBay...they were cheap...something like 5 bucks each...looked like old stock, but they were new....boxes were a little old for sure.
  16. Maybe if I leave it on the trailer for a while, she may think it will be leavin' soon......
  17. Went and looked at this what I think is a '49 1 ton back in February. The older fella who owns wanted a bit much, so I gave a lowball offer and figured that would be that.....well, he stopped by the other day and said that I could have it for what I was offering.......damn! I really don't need it, but the old gal is in pretty decent shape, and was running a few years ago.......now I just got to get this home and by the wife........
  18. I just looked at he door tag from the truck and the engine was rated at 126 Net HP, and 135 Gross HP, at 3600rpm. The truck was a 1953 Fargo, so the carb numbers jive for sure. The engine does indeed have the sodium exhaust valves. It also had the large damper, but when I had the rotating mass balanced, I left it off, and went with the smaller, narrow belt 218 pulley. More pics to come as this progress.....
  19. 1937 Dodge...yes, the carbs were on the intake when I got it, and they are E9K1's. The master I am using is from a '95 Cherokee...I just drilled and tapped two holes, and used studs, and washers. I had to trim the original rod down about two inches. I am adding a couple of pics of the engine in the truck when I got it home.....a crusty mess.
  20. Overdrive A-833's are quite plentiful in the Northwest it seems...I have four now I think....the bearing retainer fit perfectly into the bell that came with the 265 I am using (3.5 ton truck). I had to have two tabs welded on the top and drilled and threaded them for the top of the trans. The bottom is just some angle iron bolted onto the flange for the bottom trans holes. Seems plenty strong, but it may have to have a plate welded on in the future. I used a '70 340 disc and pressure plate that bolted right on the 265 flywheel. I modified the 340 release bearing and ground off the bearing retainer snout about 1/4 of an inch. Test fit everything on the block (with crank and flywheel) and it seems to be a go. The goveners are just on there for looks and to fit the linkage...they were gutted long before I got the engine...I am using a '72 diff from a Satellite with 3.23 gears...should roll down the road ok......when I get everything bolted together, I can take more pics if you guys like....
  21. Hi Folks...got my bell housing modified for a Chrysler A-833 OD, and have a '95 Cherokee master mounted and hooked up to the pedal. Still all sitting on my messy bench, but getting close to mounting on the engine. Here a couple of pics......pardon the mess, but it gets that way from time to time......
  22. I am just finishing a 265 and found parts readily available. Everything is new except the block, crank and rods, and the cam which I had reground. Have Fun!
  23. I always had figured that the 25 inch block, be it Canadian, or US, would be the same......my engine came out of a '53 3.5 ton truck out of Alberta...the first few digits of the ID numbers were ground off when it was at the rebuilders in 1966. I had bought it as a 265, and the internals proved it to be right. The plot thickens.....
  24. My block has nothing like that...that is obvious where and how the housing goes.......hmmmm....no full flow for me I guess . Anyone need a full flow housing?
