  1. After a little dolly work and the shrinking disk its almost all gone
  2. Next set of dents to smooth out.
  3. Picture of the disc.
  4. There were three different ripples with one being 3/16 deep from high to low and the disc removed them all. Nice and tight panel now.
  5. Got a new toy. I bought a shrinking disc and i love it. My hood panels had a real bad oil can distortion and its just flat steel with louvers in it. With some finesse I was able to remove all of the oil canning. Will post pics in morning.
  6. Installed the rebuilt carburetor
  7. A new fuel level sender
  8. Today i installed the fuel tank
  9. This is a mess
  10. Ive actually used a hose taped up tight on my shop vac. Worked great but loren has a good point about air seaping past the cups.
  11. Still sanding and spot blasting, redoing others body work.
  12. Last night I replaced the timing chain with a nice new one. I couldn't find gears but meyers early dodge had the chain. Now it's nice and tight. Old one had about .375" slop. Im so happy to find the chain, now timing will be more consistent.
  13. The pair being mailed out.
  14. Apparently that light was a jb weld reconstruction. We will have the replacement set mailed to the platter soon. The rest of the chrome has returned from the copper stage, that is when he restamps the lettering and polishes before he does final chrome process.
  15. So i have been pretty busy sanding and whatnot. My platter got ahold of me with the news of one of the cowl lights are no good. I've been on the search and finally found a set.
  16. Im with you Plymouth Adams, i mount of my classic car tires. As purchase places ive been buying tires from Amazon delivered to my door. You wouldn't think about it but they have a good selection.
  17. Here are my homemade buttons
  18. I roll bearings in about 15 times a year in the diesel world. For a special tool ive made my own buttons for work. Not sure if it would work in your car or not. I take a bolt and grind the head to the thickness of the main shell with rounding a slight arch. Then install the button into the oil hole on the crank and slowly turn the crank with a ratchet on the front. The button pushes against the main shell and rolls it out. Maybe at work tomorrow i can take a picture of one i made.
  19. When you say top bearings are we still looking at rods. You don't need to remove the crank to do rods or mains. Mains you just have to know how to roll in a new set.
