chucky07 Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 excuse if i sound like i've never done this before..but i haven't I'm installing my transmission....I got the pressure plate and clutch disc aligned (kinda) and bolted up loosely..then I went to install throw out bearing...i guess it just sits on the two arms in the rear.? there is a spring but I cannot remember where it is suppose to hook to? Also I have a new throw out bearing but cannot figure out how to get old one off sleeve? any help would be appreciated ( i'm trying to use my old manual but cannot figure this out from pictures) thx Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 The bearing needs to be pressed off of the sleeve and the new one pressed back on. The spring connects between the throwout bearing and a pin that points in toward the clutch at the upper inside of the transmission pilot hole. Merle Quote
chucky07 Posted August 4, 2008 Author Report Posted August 4, 2008 thank you..i saw the screw up top ...i thought it might be..but wanted to make sure..my manual isnt clear on it..and i forgot..since it's been 10 months guess i'll take bearing to machine shop...if im lucky i'll get it back in a month or two..(small one horse town in the middle of no where) Quote
streamer Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 I just changed my throw out bearing and I was able to simply tap it off with a light hammer. Give it a try. Quote
