dmulhall Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 has anyone ordered the floor mat from roberts? I saw they have one, just wondering how they fit.. I know how well the rest of the stuff from roberts fits.. Thanks, Dave Quote
Zeke1953 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 I have a floor mat from Roberts. Considering the other available options (none), I am satisfied with it. The mat is not an exact fit so you have to do some trimming, but both the jute and rubber layers are pretty thick. There is no hole pre-cut for a floor shifter, so if you have one, you need to cut out the hole yourself. Your best bet is to make a template of the mat out of paper first so you will be sure to cut in the right place. Zeke Quote
dmulhall Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 thanks for the info.. I have a column shift, so no problems. Thanks again, Dave Quote
1952gary Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 I have a Roberts mat in my 52 truck and it works well. Take time to cut the necessary holes for proper fit. Quote

grey beard Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Dave, We have a neighbor with a large farm who sells conveyor belting of all sizes and types. Must have acres of the stuff. There I found material three feet wide in a pyramid design nearly identical to the original matting but of course without the nice edging our mats originally had. I paid $25 for a five-foot width of this stuff. It is three times as heavy as ordinary floor mat, and very nice. I like it better than the original mat I threw away in pieces from my truck, AND I'm almost ready to put it in the cah, now that my paint work is finished. Good Luck Quote
stevenelle Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Tractor Supply, a farm store chain, sells 1/4 inch think rubber matts. Normally, a 4 x 8 sheet cost about $50, but I got a piece that was damaged for $25. Cuts easily with a large pair of tin snips. Makes a very nice floormat. These are normally used in truck beds. Jerry Roberts Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Also if your city is large enough , there will have a business that specializes in rubber products . Look in the yellow pages . Quote
Zeke1953 Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Here are some pictures of the mat I got from Roberts. As you can see, I haven't trimmed the edges yet. I'm having too much fun driving around. Zeke Quote
