NatesSedan Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Nice work Chet!~ Those before pics show it all. Great stuff and not a single rivet! Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Looks good Chet; I can almost smell the paint drying. At this rate you could be driving by Christmas. Quote
40phil41 Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 That's a great job. I performed similar surgery on my '40's trunk lid although it wasn't as bad as yours. Keep the progress reports coming. Phil Quote
steveplym Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Wow! Really impressed with your metal work Chet. That is the only way to fix those problems. Cut out the metal, rust, etc and replace. Keep up the good work. You're getting there. Quote
Normspeed Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Makes me want to get going on my rocker panels... Quote
Chester Brzostowski Posted July 28, 2008 Author Report Posted July 28, 2008 Thank you all for the At-a-Boy. The only other things I hate more then doing bodywork is drywall taping and hanging wallpaper. Welding has always been a challenge, I learned to weld in my youth while working in a machine shop prior to going to college. Although I like to weld I just couldn’t do it for long periods. It seems that I have light sensitive eyes and even with a very dark eye shield after a short period of welding my eyes will actually hurt. The very dark eye shield makes it extremely difficult to tack weld thin sheet metal. I am kind-a like a blind man doing trim paint. Norm (the other norm), no pain, no gain. Have at those rockers. Jim Yergin Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Chet, Very, very impressive. I think you said your garage in Delaware is air conditioned. I sure hope so given the weather this past weekend. Jim Yergin Quote
