Hello Folks,

It has been year and a half since I joined this merry crowd, good times alltogether...

Well, I was not considering my "name-tag" in a hurry to get to enjoy your fellowship. I used a sort of a joke around the Bothnia Bay "en (jävla) finne igen" - another (bloody) finn again - an old swedish proverb... Not a very good choice for an american forum. Thus I wish to be baptised for new.

Some of you know me already quite well. For the rest a brief summary:

I live in Jyväskylä, central Finland and during the short finnish summer I drive a 1948 D24 Custom 4D sedan, which I imported from LaGrange Illinois in February 2007. So far I've only done some mechanical overhaul and sloow rust protection jobs on the body. Main interest is to keep her on the road and hopefully some day will spray a decent overcoat to do justice on her divine curves... ;-)

I'll keep messin' around the same way as have been. The honor is blown but reputation will go strong, cheers!

I had a colleague I worked with whose father was Russian and his mother was Finnish. He always told me that he was a result of his father "rushin' to finish". Welcome back to the forum and all I can say is it's always great to hear from a Mopar Man!

Welcome, Uncle.

Yes, please do not hit any late-model plastic cars with

those over-riders. That would not be a pretty sight!

Hey what's in a name? A re-welcoming to you. Those are some different bumper over rides on your car. Do you have a hawaiian theme going on in the interior? Eric

Well, when (or if) the weather gets a bit warmer up here, I'll wear my colorful Hawaiian shirt and the sunglasses as pictured - That is as far as the theme goes at this moment of time. Othervise the theme is time and patina: As you see, someone has brush painted the dash and window frames over, but left the gentle surface rust where it was... Fortunately interior chrome is quite good as it commonly is in these cars. Also all the gauges are working fine and I even got the original clock going again. It keeps in time. /Pekka

Clay,

Well, I must admit I do not know a place called Sommerau, would it be in Finland?

I suppose you have been working in Arabia factory in Helsinki?

I have unfortunately not visited at that factory.

However, Arabia is the most famous finnish pottery & porcelain maker and their products are highly appreciated. People pay good prices on vintage Arabia products.

somero...yes it could be. not sure of the spelling..

as you know..FINNLAND was the leader and innovator in world ceramics in the 50's and into the early 60's. thier works were published back then and when i went to see them in reality i must admit..i was a little wet in the eyes, to see something so famous in my field of art ceramics.

i was in demnark a few times teaching and doing ceramic art work..

impressive as well was filling the beer kegs in the bars from a TANKER TRUCK!.... i couldnt believe it!

love your country!
