Answer to "what are sonic wings"

Gary had asked a few days ago if anyone knew what those "sonic wings" for sale on ebay were. None of us seemed to really know. So I asked the buyer and this was his reply:

hey don't fret if it wasn't for the fact that i have owned the same 1949 plymouth for the past 30 years since i was 15 i would not now either!

what these wings are extreamly rare. they fit on the bumpers tops we found this out when we about 17 when i saw an old man at the that had them on his and i was never able to find them until now and he would never sell them to me. i had forgotten all about them until i saw the auction.

they were a add on that would only fit the 49 bumber. they go inbetween the bumber guard rails if your car had one.

That explanation helped some.....maybe.....still not totally clear. I wrote back to the buyer and asked if he could send a picture with those installed. We shall see (or may not see).
