Jim Dohr Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 Trying to figure out the how and where of putting this (door and fender weatherstrip from Roberts) between the fender and around the door. Anyone have a pic to share? Many thanks. Quote

Merle Coggins Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Jim, You've read my mind. I was tinkering with that this weekend too. I found the following pictures that I had taken of one of my replacement doors. But I don't have any of the weather stripping on the cab side. I was going to start a thread asking for pics of that, but you beat me to it. Does anyone have pics of the cab side weather stripping that shows where it starts at the top, and a close up of the profile. The replacement weather stripping that I have has a sealing lip, but I want to be sure which way the lip is supposed to face. Quote

Here's where mine were... http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c141/shephatchery/?action=view¤t=cabweather04.jpg Also, there's some weatherstripping on the cab at the bottom. I'm not aware anyone makes it. http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c141/shephatchery/?action=view¤t=doorfloorseal02.jpg Quote
grey beard Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Thanks for the fine pics. I am about to remove the original weatherstripping from my cab. The door and cab pieces overlap quite a bit at the top of the wing vent area. The cab portion continues on to the top corner of the windshield, while the door pieces each go rearward past the ven wing division bar before they stop. The lower rear corners of the cab weatherstrip stops just below the horizontal door gasket area at the cab floor area. The lower door weatherstrips around the hinge areas of both doors was missing below the belt line and appears to have never been present, near as I can see. Any good suggestions for removing weatherstrip residue other than lots of digging and scrubbing with lacquer thinner or adhesive remover? Thanks, Quote
