Sorry guys, I know this has been addressed here many times but I just can't seem to determine which engine I have. The serial number on the left front side of teh block is D42-404402-B. The engin is 23" long. The truck is a 1952 B-3-B. Any help is greatly appreciated.

According to the chart I looked at engines that start with the letter D are from some model of dodge car. According to the chart yours would be a 230ci

from 1951-1952. Hope this helps.

What do you mean by "the fuel pump holes are not alligned"? Here's a picture of my 218 block. How is yours different? If yours is indeed a 251 it is probably a long block. Measure the length of the head. The 218's and 230's are 23" long. The long block engines are 25" long.
