Buddy Wilson Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Sorry guys, I know this has been addressed here many times but I just can't seem to determine which engine I have. The serial number on the left front side of teh block is D42-404402-B. The engin is 23" long. The truck is a 1952 B-3-B. Any help is greatly appreciated. Buddy Quote
bob1949b Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 According to the chart I looked at engines that start with the letter D are from some model of dodge car. According to the chart yours would be a 230ci from 1951-1952. Hope this helps. Bob Quote

Fernando Mendes Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 My B3-B flat head six engine number is IND251 69661C,the fuel pump holes are not aligned, the transmission is 3 speed in the steering column. What is the differences between it and the 218,230 ci? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 What do you mean by "the fuel pump holes are not alligned"? Here's a picture of my 218 block. How is yours different? If yours is indeed a 251 it is probably a long block. Measure the length of the head. The 218's and 230's are 23" long. The long block engines are 25" long. Quote
