Guest El Rust box Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Im looking at lowering my 51 fargo a few inches. Anyone ever tried to flip the springs to loose a few inches? If i swap it to the under side of the rear axle am i going to have to "C notch" it for sure? It looks like its gonna come down about 5-6 inches. And that will only give me around 2-3 inches clearence max. What is an exeptable amount of clearence between the axle and frame? Oh, and how about the front? It looks like i might run into some trouble with the stearing arm on the passenger side. Anyone got any input? A straight up flip of the springs would be ideal, but is going to more trouble than its worth. Thanks.... Quote
51 Fargo Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Hey how can there be 2 51 fargo,s on this site . Is your name Matt. If So Matt we are going to have a problem posting if we are both useing "51 fargo " as a name. any how to answer your question I had to C notch my frame for clearance after I flip the axle and as far as the front you can get dropped spindles and take a few leafs out of the pack in the front ............ msjenkins Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 I swapped my axle in the back using stock springs and you will definitely have to 'C' the frame. Unless you like that 'bouncy' feeling. Quote
