Guest Dave Claussen Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Does anyone have a part number from say, Napa, for the rear shocks for a '52 b3c. I had the shocks that were on the truck when I got it, but there weren't any numbers left that were legible. I'm betting someone out there has replaced their shocks recently. My local Napa didn't have a listing that far back, so we tried to find something by just going on the compressed and extended length and the size of the mounting bushings. Any kind of part number would make this a whole lot easier. Napa supposedly has Monroe shocks. It wouldn't even have to be a Monroe shock, but they might be able to cross reference a different manufacturer. Thanks in advance. Dave Quote
Zeke1953 Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Just replaced all four shocks on my '53 B4C. Got them at Autozone - Part No. 82065 for both front and rear. Gabriel Guardians - $16.99 each. They fit perfectly and make a big improvement in handling. Zeke Quote
grey beard Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Dave, I used the same thng Zeike used. They are gas shocks and are no problem. Cheap, too. JMHO Quote
Guest Dave Claussen Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Hey thanks guys. I was pretty sure there was someone making a good replacement shock for our trucks. I'll take that number to the Autozone here and see if they can hook me up. Dave Quote
Merle Coggins Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 I also got my shocks from Auto Zone, but the front and rear's were different part numbers. My local store even had the fronts in stock, and they had the rears in a couple of days. Quote
Mario Loya B1B Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 I wrote these numbers down a while back. Front Shocks at AutoZone Monroe #410126 guardian shock Rear Shocks at AutoZone Monroe #078476 proguard shock. Hope that helps. Quote
Zeke1953 Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 I double checked the Autozone shock part numbers for my truck ('53 B4C) and they are the same for both front and rear applications (82065). Then I checked the numbers for a 1950 3/4 ton truck and they are different for front and rear. Could the mounting locations or somethng else have been changed at some point? Zeke Quote
