The Edmunds head is nice, but you could have a brand new EDGY head for half that price... Pete

$500 for an Edgy head? I thought they were more like $700-800.

Nearly half... the current bid on the Edmunds head is over $1300.00, plus shipping. Three days left on the auction.

Decisions, decisions so many decisions. This is hard, should I buy a new one for $725 or get a used one with a heil-coil for $1300 +.

Thanks heavens the only decision I have to make is to buy a new head or have a set of custom 3 ring pistons made. I am going to have to come with a decision soon as the old girls block is ready to go to the machine shop.;)

I am also have a hard time comming up with a name for my girl, any suggestings. My wife says I have a hard time making decisions. I do not understand how she comes up with that?

Well, I have an Edgy head, ordered in Oct last yr, finished and shipped 31/1/08, rec'd here in Oz 5/2/08, packed well, Earl was a pleasure to deal with, he probably thought I was a pain in the arse, however I would recommend him 100%......the edgy head came to just under $1000.00 Aust by the time it arrived here, but its new, its finned, and it should go vvvvvrrrrrrrooooooommmmmm......so I'm a happy camper...........oh....and the Edmunds head at the present is $1402 Aust.....plus shipping, nah I'll pass, andyd

The spark plug holes are the weakest link on those heads. I had one that was felt sloppy, and did not feel comfortable with it. I ended up putting in Time Certs in each hole. Glad I did.

Should add I'm ordering another from Earl for my new 48 :D:

(snip) :D:

By the time I figured out that my Edmunds head should have been using 1/2" reach plugs, I had already damaged the threads in 2 cylinders by using 3/8" plugs. My mechanic is recommending 3/4" reach Timecerts, whcih he can install using small spacers, as he said that there are more sparkplug types available in that size. If I can find a 3/4" plug that comes with a .060" - .080" gap standard for my HEI ignition, I'm going for it!
