55 Fargo Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 There are a few suppliers of ready made headliner and carpet/upholstery kits, Kanters is one, Roberts has premade/cut carpets, and maybe JC Whitney can also get some of these itmes...............Fred ps doorpanels can be custom made by you or a shop Quote

They have the original napped cotton style or vinyl already cut and ready to install. It cost me about $160, including the extra material for the sun visors. Just give the them the info on what car you have, date, style and model and they will custom make it for you from original patterns. Below is a pic of how nice mine went in. Normspeed Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 Darin's interior work came out great. Quote
47heaven Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 jaguar...I didn't install it myself because I'm not knowledgeable in that sort of thing, so I let an upholsterer do it instead. He said that it fit great and he barely had to do any triming, if at all. As a rule of thumb, I don't attempt to do something that I know anything about because my bad luck has always showed me that I will live to regret it. Fred...sorry I didn't get back to you on that. That buddy of mine that has the '48 Dodge buisness coupe gave me a whole trunk latch assembly and it has the lock inside it. So I'm okay there. Thanks again. Quote
John Burke Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 My wife and I installed ready made headliners in our 49 Plymouth Bizzy and the 49 Dodge 4-door. Was'nt hard at all. Works best with 2 people... Took us about 2 hours for each installation.....John Burke Quote

David Maxwell Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 ...where did you get your seat material? That's awesome and looks almost identical to one of the original fabric options for the car. I have a friend that would love to locate that material. Quote

I have a friend that would love to locate that material. David- I got it from a guy here in Pomona. He has a big roll of it (well, I don't know how much is left now). I tried to buy just the material, but he wouldn't sell it to me. He would only sell it to me if he was the one doing the upholstery...so that is where he had me. The place is called Pomona Upholstery. Quote
David Maxwell Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 ...would need an upholsterer anyhow so that sounds great. Quote

Oh...I forgot to mention...this guy's English isn't the best, so you might want to have your friend take a Spanish translator along, unless he speaks it already....just so there are no communication problems.
