47heaven Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I'm trying to install my original ignition switch on my P15 and right now I have the GM switch that came with the wiring kit. I didn't put it on, so I'm not sure how the wiring from the new switch would transfer onto the old one. The new switch has three prongs that are labled ACC, BAT, IGN The old switch is labled: COIL, AM, RAD/GA The wire are still on the new one and I figure the wires that are sharing the same prong on the new switch would do the same on the old, but want to be sure. Probably is this is a simple thing, but I always want to be sure. I guess I need to know how the wires would transfer over from the new back to the old. (i.e. where do the wires that are connected to ACC go on the old...etc.) Thanks, Darin Quote
Merle Coggins Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 ACC is the Accessory position. Same as the RAD/GA on your old switch. BAT is the power feed. Same as AM (power from the Ammeter). And IGN = COIL. Quote
