Normspeed Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Did the 52 models have a chrome trim strip down the middle of the hood, from the hood ornament back? Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Yes, a little over 1" wide and slightly crowned- same as a 51 plymouth. Quote
Normspeed Posted January 16, 2008 Author Report Posted January 16, 2008 Thanks. I was looking at what I thought was a 53 hood ornament but it had a little narrower band at the back. That must be where the 52 hood strip blends into the ornament. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 1951 and 52 plyms have a recessed notch for the hood moulding to slip onto the rear of the hood ornament. 53`s have no hood top moulding. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 The '52 strip is narrower than the '51 strip due to differences in the hood ornament. The year of the strip has to match the year of the 'boat'. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I checked my Mopar parts book which says PT#1347435 hood moulding fits both 1951 and 52 plymouths! It`s wrong!!! I went out to the shop and measured my 1952 Belvedere hood moulding and its about an 1/8" narrower than my 51 Cranbrook! Oh Jesus!!! Bob Quote
