kevinanderson Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Can anyone tell me if an industrial slant six can be replaced with a long block flathead six? This is in a large fork lift. Thanks. Quote
Don Coatney Posted November 25, 2006 Report Posted November 25, 2006 Can anyone tell me if an industrial slant six can be replaced with a long block flathead six? This is in a large fork lift. Thanks. Kevin; Most folks would go the other way and replace a flat 6 with a slant 6. You should have plenty of room. The slant 6 is around 29" long if my memory serves me well. The long block flathead 6 is 25 1/2" long. You will most likely have to fab up motor mounts. Not sure what you will have to do to mate the fork truck transmission to the flat 6. Probably not a bolt up application. Quote
