BobT-47P15 Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 ......a wolf whistle, and a new bug deflector. Well, actually, they were from my son-in-law and daughter who spent the last few days with us. Dale found these on ebay.....figured we might as well have the fancy ones like the late 40s or the 50s. This particular pair was found by the seller in between two walls of an old service station he was demolishing. Still in the original box. Evidently fell there years ago. Since I like period knick knacks, these fit right in. Good thing is---they simply clamp on and can be removed at any time. The wolf whistle is a reproduction and is vacuum operated. The next question is where to mount it, as it's activated by pulling on the lever at the rear. And, of course, has to tap into the vacuum system. Does anyone have one of these on their car......and any pics of where you mounted it, etc??? Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 George Asche has one on his 29 Desoto. Mounts on the intake manifold. Quote
kevinanderson Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 mine is mounted on the intake too. i just have a flexible peice of heavy nylon cord threaded(like weed whip cord) thru the dash. works okay but looks like hell. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 26, 2007 Author Report Posted December 26, 2007 Thanks for the replies guys. Hmmm....that bug screen on the bell of the whistle probably has merit. I do get bugs under the hood....may have to invent something similar. Quote
PatS.... Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 Nice finds, Bob...the mudflaps look great! Quote
