Stromberg BXVES

I have a 1952 Dodge Coronet with Gyromatic and a Stromberg BXVES carburetor. It has two electrical components (relays/solenoids/switches/?) mounted on the side of the carburetor. I had the carb professionally rebuilt, but one of the components broke on the way to the shop. When I got the carb back, the other component was missing and the shop couldn't find it. My tattered shop manual identifies one as the Dashpot Solenoid Assembly, the other as part of the Kickdown Switch assembly. Does anyone have a potential source for these objects of obsolescent automotive ingenuity? I have not been able to find them either from the Interwebz or from any of the normal vintage car suppliers. Any help would be appreciated.

I wish I could help. Whatever spares I had are long gone. You are correct. The switch on the front is the electric dash pot and the kick down is on the side. I’ve been able to find carbs at swap meets in the past. Also check eBay and facebook marketplace. If you have any junk yards in your area try them. I would think the shop that lost the parts should be responsible for replacing them.

Marv,

Your best bet will probably be ebay now. They have a lot of Stromberg stuff. Look also at Fluid Drive under Chrysler, DeSoto, etc. Try 1948 Chrysler, and 1948 DeSoto.

I have seen the parts you are looking for on ebay under these headings. In addition you maybe able to snag an older parts carb on ebay to Frankenstein your carb back to life.
