Why different lenghts IAT1035 and IAT4011 drive shaft?

Hi all.I would like to know why different lenghts IAT1035 my PU B3-B Chrysler IND251 engine and IAT4011 from 1951 Plymouth car my friend.Best regards.

The difference between the two shaft lengths is that the blocks are probably different sizes. The Chrysler is the 25 inch block and head and the Plymouth is the 23 inch block and head.
