The other day I was going through my 1929-1939 Desoto master Parts manual. I went to the section eight on standard parts.

I was looking at the Group 18-L Hose clamps:

What i discovered is that Mopar listed two types of hose clamps for these years, FLAT and WIRE.  But only wire clamp stye was listed and the number on the clamp is 105475.  This wire clamp was used on the BYPass hose from the thermostat housing to the top of the water pump.  All the other clamps are lsited as flat style clamps.

The clamp # 105479 and 105481 are specifically listed in my 1939 Desoto parts manual for the hose from the water pump back to the radiator and also listed as flat style.

Also went to the POC Plymouth Owners Club and into their judging manual and it states that the wires clamps were the ones used for all connections.  Even went to a later 1946-49 Plymouth manual and the pictures that they show in various sections also show the two wire clamps.

Then went to the newer Bernbaum catalog he states that from 1930-54 and for trucks 1930-56 all used the two wire clamps.  From 1955 -1962 they used the pinch style single wire hose clamps.

So I know that the POC has very good documented facts on the Plymouth cars and they judge for the cars to be restored back to factory specifications I am trying to document what really are the correct style hose clamps for our cars.  This is just for my education for judging of cars and to also help car owners install the correct type hose clamps.

I have attached some of the documentation which lists the hose clamp numbers.

What I am trying to verify that from 1940-1954 and via the use of each year owners car what are three parts numbers that are listed for hose clamps for each marque

So for 1929-39

Ply, Dodge, Desoto and Chrysler they used

105474  By Pass Hose,

105479 and 105482 return hose from water pump back to the radiator either top or the bottom hose.

Please refer to the attached document and you will see the various clamp sizes and also the official MoPar part number.

If I can get several members to look at their parts manual and list what the numbers are that would be very helpful.

If you want to send me any documentation you can send it to Desoto1939@aol.com
