OUTFXD
Uninstalled my hood latch yesterday. When I put it back together I apparently didnt tighten the little doohicky that goes over the end of the cable. Went to test the hood latch withj predictable results. Now the hood release hand is pulled back four or so inches and the tip that is under the hood is pulled back into the cable armor. Trying to push the cable back into the housing simply isnt working, the cable feels like it is stuck. will not push back in and when I do push on it the bit of cable sticking out on the Release level side just bows and writhes around. Anyone have any good tip or tricks to fix this?
Eneto-55
I wonder if rotating the cable inside the housing while pushing on it would allow it to be worked back out.
Bob Ritter
The first thing I would do is check the outer cable for links, next I would pull the inner cable and check for links and if everything looks good I would reinstall the cable by greasing it as it goes in. Next I would lubricate the latch and make sure it is working freely. That should take care of the problem.
