Tired iron Posted March 18, 2023 Report Posted March 18, 2023 (edited) Hi all. I doubt the stick that is sitting under my hood was the stock hood support ? but it's the way the car came to me. Is there supposed to be a steel rod you put in place to support the hood, or does the spring configuration at the hinges keep it up? (Mine does not) Edited March 18, 2023 by Tired iron Quote
Cannuck Posted March 18, 2023 Report Posted March 18, 2023 On my 48 the springs hold it up . I would imagine yours should also. Quote
Bob Ritter Posted March 20, 2023 Report Posted March 20, 2023 I have accouple 1950 Plymouth's and they only have one hood brace at the rear of the hood, that extra brace might be adding weight to the hood. The hood springs are not that strong and you need to keep them oiled. Quote
D35 Torpedo Posted March 21, 2023 Report Posted March 21, 2023 It's hard to see what's going on. It looks like the hinge isn't bolted to the hood correctly. Quote
Tired iron Posted March 21, 2023 Author Report Posted March 21, 2023 I'll check into this more soon. Thanks, all. Quote
