I'm taking apart my engine in the 29 DeSoto and was trying to figure out the front crank seal. I didn't find much of anything on the old cover. So I looked in my parts book and all I see is maybe a cork donut. How would this be installed and will it seal the crank up. I'm not sure how it would go as it may spin

I don't know any light on the subject may help. Ty

Hickory: I assume you are a member of the National Desoto club.  The 1929 Model coordinator is Les Pesavento. I would contact him since he is very knowledgable about these early Desoto's.  Les lives in upper Michigan.

I have already spoke with les. He has very little knowledge of the engine components internally. He suggested a man named Gregg Pappas but I can't find my roster issue.
