Norm's Coupe Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 Tim, that was a good one. Brought back memories of when I was a kid in the late 50's. We use to caddy at the Iroquois Park Golf Course in Louisville. Back then the standard pay for a caddy at that course was .75 cents for 9 and $1.50 for 18 holes. (that was a lot of money for kids in the 50's to earn). Plus the golfer would usually tip a quarter or fifty cents. However, there was this one golfer all of use like to caddy for. Hopefully, we were lucky enough to be in the right place on the call list when he got there. That guy couldn't hit a ball straight if he tried. So........just about every time he'd hit the ball it was a bad shot, then he'd reach in his golf bag, pull out a half pint and take a drink. By the time we finished 18 holes he was pretty wasted. Then when it came time to pay us he'd pull out a $10 or $20 bill to pay us and always said keep the change. :D Quote
