rcull Posted February 25, 2022 Report Posted February 25, 2022 (edited) If your ordering a timing set or chain for a 33-54 Flathead Mopar, beware there are some bad ones out there. This one had half the rail link in the center and half one ling to the outside! Not sure of the supplier, so be careful. I actually had it installed once, then had remove it and noticed the problem on the second install!:( Edited February 25, 2022 by rcull 1 1 Quote
FarmerJon Posted February 25, 2022 Report Posted February 25, 2022 Good eye, it took me a minute to spot what you were talking about. Thanks for the warning. Any idea how old the chain is, or county of origin? Quote
rcull Posted February 25, 2022 Author Report Posted February 25, 2022 (edited) The chain is brand new, never run. I do not know the manufacturer or country of origin. The owner got most of the parts through Carquest, (many of the parts were Rebuilders Choice) but such an unusual part they may have sourced it from unusual places and the package for this part is long gone. There aren't a lot of suppliers for these chains, and maybe this is the only one, or maybe there are boxes of them! Edited February 25, 2022 by rcull Quote
James_Douglas Posted February 25, 2022 Report Posted February 25, 2022 Wow, thanks for the warning. James Quote
