Engine temperature gauge 1947 Dodge 1/2 ton

I am continuing to discover missing parts/pieces as I prepare to get my project running.  It is missing the Temp/Oil gauge.  I have located one but have no idea where the sensor attaches to the engine in order to register the temp.  I believe I see where the oil pressure line goes.  There is a small metal line coming from the bottom driver side of the engine hanging in the engine bay.  I am fairly confident that attaches to my oil gauge.

There should be a hole in the head.  on the vertical face of the head, left rear probably right behind that oil filter.
