MarcDeSoto Posted November 1, 2021 Report Posted November 1, 2021 I'm getting to the point in my restoration where I'm beginning to think about upholstery for my 48 DeSoto bus. coupe. It needs new headliner, door panels, carpet, rubber mats, and wool broadcloth for the seats. I want to do as near an authentic interior as possible. I'm not really ready to go to an upholsterer yet, but I'm beginning to worry about the supplies running out for cars of my vintage. Maybe i should buy the materials now before I'm ready to hire an upholsterer? Does anyone know who has the best supplies? I'm now contacting SMS for samples. Marc. Quote
Bryan Posted November 1, 2021 Report Posted November 1, 2021 Only link I have is SMS. Would coordinate with them to find out how to approximate amount you need or ask an upholsterer. Probably a lot of wastage given seat shapes and panels. I had to use mothballs to keep mice and moths out of my car. Mothballs will give you a headache from the fumes..be careful. If you store wool for a while I would get maybe a long sealed container maybe somewhere temp controlled. Had old clothes in an outside storage shed (water tight but no temp control) that molded after a few years. 1 Quote

Only one supplier and prices keep going up. Quote
