Guest saltracer Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I have a 25" motor that came out of an 1951 Dodge pickup. The numbers on the block (left front) reads 117-10212 can some one tell me if that is the correct engine ? Quote
oldmopar Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Is there a letter before the numbers mopar engines started with a letter T= truck,P=plymouth,D=Dodge,s= Desoto,c=Chyrsler Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Well, a 25" motor must have been transplanted in the 51 Pickup unless maybe it was from Canada. The truck engine numbers for that era started with a T so I can't find your number for you in my engine list. A stock engine # for a 51 1/2 or 3/4 ton pickup sould be T306. Check that number again. Is there another place on the block that I should look? This number is on a flat on the left side front of the block just below the head. Thanks Quote
55 Fargo Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 If it is a Canadian built Dodge Truck, it would have either the 218 or 230 longblock 6. If this is a USA truck it will either be a 251 with the W or S missing, or maybe it's a 265 Industrial 6. If it's the industrial, youd be a lucky guy, nice big powerful 6 to power your truck with..........Fred Quote
