Hey all, I'm planning my flatbed design as I'll be making one from scratch, mostly planning right nor if  I can use the fuel tank I got for a donor C60(it's like 18+" wide to be side mounted) but was curious if anyone knew the outside width of one of the original flat beds?  I'll be making it 9' long to fill  the frame but I don't know if I'll like a 84" wide bed like they have in a flat bed today as it'll still way past the fenders but maybe I'm over thinking things.  To be honest I haven't looked at the pilothouse knowledge site to see if there is any info there.

Thanks!

Answered my own question by looking on the other site, so it'll be a 84" wide bed 9' long.

EDIT: In case anyone is curious, here is where I looked to see what may have been possible back then: http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/special_equipment/platform/imgcol/index.htm

Page 16 shows some dimensions.  I also did some math with my new tire width and new wheel size, roughly outside to outside for the tires is 78-80", so a 84" wide would extend a few inches wider than the tires/wheels.  Also a 84" flatbed is common on newer style vehicles.  Time will tell, I may make the bed narrower if its looks are odd, never owned a flatbed before so itll be interesting to see how it comes along.

Glad you got it figured out for yours.
Neither of my flatbeds are factory but the one ton has the 84” you refer to. The “GA” has a 91” wide bed that (to me) fits nicely because someone also put the 8.25x 20’s on the rear   and apparently  that puts the tire width to 88” back there ?
