greg g Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Norm, I would refer the folks back to the Private Property and pursuit of happiness provisions of a well know document. And further to the restrictions. codicils and covenents in their own property deeds. My deed states I may not have more than a two car garage, may not use my domicile for commercial purposes, and a few other items of restriction that probably a lot of folks are in violation of those as well as published local ordinaces without knowing it. It might be well to ask them why an unlicensed vehicle is worse then the 4 or 5 registered ones that seem to be in everybody's drive way these days. Having more than two vehicles regularly parked as a residence might be a violation. I look around at my neighbor hood and others and See Dad's Car, Dad's hunting truck, and three cars for the kids that are still at home or just moved back. All for having a nice neighborhood and keeping up property values but these zealots need to get a life, more than just doing thier Kilroy impression as insinuating their noses into other's business. Guest Nile Limbaugh Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Several years ago I lived in a small (1400 pop) town in central Illinois. I had towed an old Dodge home that was sitting in the driveway, all tires up, all in one piece, no current tag. The mayor, who owned the filling station where I traded, suggested that I remove the car from my driveway as it was an eyesore. I made no comment but went downtown and read up on village ordinances. No ordinance against unlicensed cars. A few weeks later he made the comment that if I didn't move the car he would pick it up with his towtruck. I mentioned the fact that there was no ordinance against unlicensed cars and asked him if he would like to go to jail for grand theft. THe subject never came up again. Quote

Normspeed Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Norm, I agree, that is a little too much. What he really meant was, "an engine in a rather small attached workshop." " he even had an engine in a closet in the house. Now granted, that is a little too much." Quote
