Heater removal 48 Chrysler

Does anyone have a diagram of how the heaters bolt in on a 48 Chrysler Windsor? Thanks!

Is it a model 53, passenger side?

Both of them, and the box in between. I think model 53 and 54 or something like that.

Passenger side, 53, has two studs through the firewall.   See the two nuts on the wall between the inlet and outlet hoses on the engine compartment. 

Under the heater there is a bracket on the interior firewall with one bolt.

 

Driverside , 54, has just the interior bracket / bolt under.

 

BOTH have clamps (2) on top that hold to the fresh air box.

 

Ill look in my D24 parts book for a Diagram.

I've got the firewall nuts off, and two smaller nuts off inside where the air box bolts to the cowl. Still tighter than a nun's... I was trying to get it all out in one piece but I'll see if I can't get the heaters to come off of the fresh air box first. Thanks!

Leave the fresh air package...just remove the heaters. They will come out separate.

Pulling the fresh air center housing and all the linkage is complicated.

Tons of parts.

Yes, fresh air box and linkage is a bear to get back in right.

 

Heaters will come off without that.

Pulled the heaters and the air box practically fell out after that, much easier to pull it all separately. Hopefully it won't be too big of an ordeal to put it all in the good car... Thanks
