However, it's cheaper, usually, to go to a supplier and buy a length of material than it is to go to, for instance, Tractor Supply and buy only what you need. F'rinstance, 20 feet of 3/8 x 3 flat bar will sell for maybe 10 bucks where a 3 foot length in a store will cost you almost the same!
