Thomba48 Posted May 10, 2019 Report Posted May 10, 2019 What is the status? The wiper motor was cleaned and oiled. Withouth the wiper arms attached the system works finde and reasonably fast. The vaccuum was checked. The wiper arms and connections I have checked. Manually they can be moved. The issue: The moment I attached the arms to the motor nothing happens. It feels like the motor is not strong enough the wiper itself. Is there anything else I can check? thanks/ thom Quote
Cold Blue Posted May 10, 2019 Report Posted May 10, 2019 My vacuum wiper motor did not work well until I lubed it internally with about a teaspoon of brake fluid, then operated it manually to distribute the fluid. I replaced the vacuum lines to assure that it had good tight connections with no leaks. I did not disassemble it. It now works acceptably. It still struggles a bit on a dry windshield. Wetting the windshield during operation helps a lot. Quote
desoto1939 Posted May 10, 2019 Report Posted May 10, 2019 are the arm real tight onto the metal that sticks out from the wiper motor. If they are loose then the wiper transmission is just rotating. If loose then the serrations might be cutting away the metal inside the wiper arm. check this first. rich Hartung Quote
