grey beard Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Local wisdom on this forum seems to lean towards incorporating front turn signals with park lamps in the same housing - more elegant than add-on or extra lights up front. To that end, I drilled out my old single contact sockets and went to NAPA for double contact types. They sold me a pair of #LS6252 sockets, which fit into my parking lamp housings nicely. I installed these and mounted them on the front end. Went to install the bulbs, and discovered that my new sockets are made for bayonet bulbs with the pins aligned, as opposed to the normal doubled contact staggered pin types that only install one way. All this forced me go on a hunt for aligned pin, double contact six volt bulbs. For the record, six volt double contact bulbs with staggered pins are #1154, while those with pins aligned are #1158. Sorry I don't have a good NAPA number for sockets that take the 1154's. Now you can do your lights without all that hassle . . . . . I hope. Quote
greg g Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Now all ya gotta do is make sure they are in so the brights flash and the dimmer element is on with the park lamps. I was looking at my fronts yesterday and discovered the pass side was in opposite, flashing the dim one. Kinda hard to see when the bright park lamp was on...... Quote
