Wanna convert 53 belvedere steering wheel to a grant steering wheel

How simple is it to swap steering wheel on 53 belvedere to grant racing type? All the years stop at 60 on kits

I’ve been liking for some way to do this on my ‘50.

so far, I’ve only come up with cutting the steering shaft and having it machined to a “double D”,

fitting it into a steering universal Steering U joint and using a donor cut out of a ‘60s car that has an adapter available.

If the 53 is like my 47, the steering shaft is really a half-inch pipe.  I modified my steering shaft for universal joints and D-shaft, to fit a power steering gear.  I bought a splined plug ahd had it welded into the pipe shaft.

(I also devised a brush to contact a sleeve over the shaft, to maintain the horn grounding circuit.)

I have a 53 cranbrook belvedere and I'm waiting for my new grant 832 wheel, could you install yours? if so, send photos and how did u do it :). I'll do the same when I get mine.
