  1. I used one from a 60s Plymouth Belvedere. It seemed to work ok. Works with a standard size clutch disc. I’m using an A833 trans with OD, which requires a 23 spline disc. I had the diaphragm pressure plate in for a little hole and removed it. I was having some problems with the trans install. I only went back to the stock lever style because I needed to narrow down some issues. I had too many changes going on at once. You’re supposed to remove the over center spring, and adjust the clutch accordingly. I still have the diaphragm style in my garage and I’ll swap it back in if I ever have to remove that transmission again. That thing is heavy.
  2. He and I have the same manual. It only shows the parts for the 49/50 deluxe and special deluxe and what looks like a 53. No pic of the parts for the p15.
  3. This and the button on top are the only parts he has. I feel like there should be something isolating the ring from the tri-bar piece. There spring underneath the tri bar.
  4. Does anyone have a pic of the inner parts of a p15 horn ring? one of our club members horns is in constant on. I think he may be missing internal parts. thanks. -Phillip

  6. Thanks Sniper. I tried to test fit a 3/4-16 because that was the finest thread I could find at the local hardware store. I’ll keep my eye out for a 20.
  7. I have a 1950 Plymouth with a steering box from a 49. I have the 11/16-20 steering wheel nut but it doesn’t fit the old steering shaft from the 50 that was in there, or the 49 shaft i installed. It’ll thread about three turns and then it feels like it’s tearing up the threads. Is there a unique size for the 49/50? I’m not sure taking a die to it to rethread it is a good idea. does anyone know the actual size and pitch? i can’t seem to find an answer using the search function.
  8. I think everyone should build their car the way they want. This is for a friends car, not mine. I don't have any interest in a bowtie anything… But, since he is interested in going that route, I'd rather have him with a Plymouth on the road with a bowtie engine than a plymouth at the crusher, or stuck in a garage. I know the parts can be fabricated, but a kit takes out some of the guess work, because it's already done for you. If he had a kit delivered to his house, I'd be more likely to have the car on the road sooner than later. I know these old mopar cars don't get a lot of love and aftermarket support. Just throwing it out there to help him out

  12. Did this 2-2-349 bolt to the transmission side? I’m going to have a driveshaft made with a ford Ranger rear end on one end and a stock trans on the other but I know they make it for me with a ball and trunnion on the trans side.
  13. Has anyone used a diaphragm style clutch to replace their old lever style? Do you have a part number?I know there is one out there somewhere because I had one on an old P20 engine. My friend has it in their car now but I can’t find any real details to buy another one. I think it’s a 10” vs my stock 9 1/4, and my flywheel has two bolt patterns. Stock clutch cover fits the smaller pattern. looks like there’s a part number in this old picture, but it’s hard to make out.
  14. The trans is adapted using a steel copy of the adapter Tim Kingsbury and AOK racing made. It has a hole in it that the bearing retainer sits in and the trans mounts to it. There are mounting ears that then get bolted into the bell housing. the clutch doesn’t stick when the car is off and I press the pedal a bunch.When the car is on, and I press the pedal, it takes a few times but it falls to the floor. then when I get under the car, I have to apple pressure to the fork and it snaps back.
  15. A833OD from an early 80s dodge van, I think. it’s the pretty much same as the other one I have that was from a 79 dodge van. Slightly different side cover stamping, and the secondary mounting boss for the shift linkage that is at the end of the tail shaft isn’t drilled. Size and shape and everything is the same. anyway… 9.25” 23 spline clutch disk and a stock style pressure plate and throwout bearing that came as a “clutch kit” with the disc.
  16. I can’t really tell where or what’s hanging up. It’s too right in there to really see anything. I can see the clutch fork move the throwout bearing back and forth when the car is off. when I start the car, I can push the clutch in a few times before it sticks. then I’ll the car off and and get under there. Can’t really get a good visual, but if i put pressure on the clutch fork it’ll pop back and the pedal pops back up. if I put my fingers up into the clutch area I can feel the pressure plate fingers and where they meet the throwout bearing. Feels like there’s plenty of clearance where the throwout bearing touches. if I back off the adjustment, and push the fork back, the throwout bearing spins.
  17. Over center spring is in and I’ve adjusted it back and forth and it doesn’t make a difference for the problem I’m having.
  18. PP fingers? Oh.. pressure plate fingers.. it’s a new pressure plate. But, I think I just discovered that they are sticking. When the clutch falls to the floor and I get back under the car, I have to snap the clutch fork back to loosen it up.
  19. stock pressure plate and throw out bearing. Replaced clutch disk with a 9.25 23 spline. Original is 9.25 10 spline. So it’s a perfect fit. I cant get the clutch pedal to release the clutch disc. the A833 I have IS the one with overdrive.
  20. I’ve searched the other threads on the a833 and I haven’t seen any sort of info specifically on clutch adjustment after the swap. i put an a833 into my 50. I was able to get the car round the block for a couple laps and then the clutch pedal just fell to the ground. I can pull it up manually but it doesn’t pop back up. Anyone have any expert advice on how to fix this?
  21. Have you installed one of those behind a flathead? What’s the process? Adapter? Bolt in?
  22. 1950 Plymouth special deluxe: I have an a833 with a 1999 Ford ranger rear end. The Ford ranger has a parking brake, but I’m not sure how to adapt it to my car and stock trigger handle. has anyone done this?

  25. I have a hurst shifter and three different shifter handles that will work. i have the chrome flat stock “bench seat” style, the truck style. Round with a slight bend backward, and the van style: round with a slight bend forward. all three will clear my seat. I haven’t decided which one I’m going to use. i asked for pictures so I could see the boot and handle combinations and how the boots fit on the floor.
