59bisquik Posted November 17, 2019 Author Report Posted November 17, 2019 Looks like the 53 and earlier guys have a nice option for power steering. The 54+ guys are out of luck on this setup. Quote
Drifter99 Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 That looks good. I installed electric PS on mine works great and wasn’t a major pain. My steering box is wore out I need to find a replacement box. Any one with experience on replacement steering boxes.. Quote

Ultra simple conversion. only had to purchase new hoses, a double pulley for the pump and a u-joint for the steering shaft. Used complete yj steering setups are readily available and cheap. Two of the frame holes matched the gear exactly and very simple fabrication required to utilize the third and the pitman arm. Small amount of bracket casting must be ground away to mount using one water pump bolt. If you are interested in pics reply or email me and I will send pics and further installation instructions. Steers perfectly with no play. Regards, Styles stylesadamson@gmail.com I would love to see your power steering setup and get some details a well. My email is mjloston@gmail.com. Thanks in advance Quote
59bisquik Posted April 6, 2020 Author Report Posted April 6, 2020 Sluggish... it's a great idea but it's for 53 and earlier that have a completely different steering setup. Quote
