Speedometer drive gear seal

Should there be a speedometer drive gear seal on a New Process 420 four speed transmission?  I know there is one on the three speed transmissions but my four speed did not have one when I disassembled the transmission and now that I am putting it back together am wondering if there should be a seal.

I suspect that the 4 speed would be no different to the 3 speed when it comes to the speedo gear drive seal as it appears to have the same fitting (as the 3 speed) where the speedo cable connects to.

Yea that diagram is one of the reasons for my question but I can't find a source for one of the seals.  DCM has one for a three speed and the dimensions don't work for the four speed gear. I am hoping someone with a four speed has run into this before and found a solution.
