p24-1953
Will too little timing cause a hesitation or slight surge at higher speeds? It was set at 8 but I dialed it back to 4 at idle, but i don't feel like I have as much omph on the top end.
NiftyFifty
Knocking possibly with too much timing, but not usually surging...sounds more like fuel or ??? Try a high speed run and pull the choke, if that helps it, too lean, gets worse...possibly too rich
p24-1953
I will not go though the fuel issue again... I don't want to play ... I have a new tank, all new lines, new fuel pump and a back up electric running, I thought I was done with fuel issues....
Jerry Roberts
You might try setting your timing with a vacuum gauge . Try for the highest steady reading . And of course you can use the vacuum gauge to adjust the carb too .
Todd B
I had a similar problems back in the 80's and after several changes and endless ideas we found out the fuel line was undersized and once I changed without pinching it off the truck ran awesome.
