Referring to my link above, you might want to trim the felt back or force it into the cupped washer more...also, the felt should be soaked in light oil, then wring out the excess, so that this pivot point is lubricated by the wicking action.

Adjustments can be made by feel, but that rarely translates into even shoe wear which implies not full shoe engagement with the drum, reducing braking efficacy.  For best results, a homemade brake gauge can be made to set the shoes, similar to the Miller tool:cool:

That's some good repurposing ! 

That looks correct to me but it's been several years since I've worked on these brakes.  If I remember correctly the felt was not quite as thick as you have it.

There so much play where the felt is didn't see where alittle more there wouldn't hurt...lol

Ok thanks for the help I will go by sound until it comes time to bleed them I'm really just mocking my front end now
