JBNeal Posted February 19, 2017 Report Posted February 19, 2017 previous discussion about brake part assembly Referring to my link above, you might want to trim the felt back or force it into the cupped washer more...also, the felt should be soaked in light oil, then wring out the excess, so that this pivot point is lubricated by the wicking action. Adjustments can be made by feel, but that rarely translates into even shoe wear which implies not full shoe engagement with the drum, reducing braking efficacy. For best results, a homemade brake gauge can be made to set the shoes, similar to the Miller tool Quote

There so much play where the felt is didn't see where alittle more there wouldn't hurt...lol Quote
