oldblue47 Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 Hey, I've been lurking for a while and have learned a lot! I recently bought my Grandpa's 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe (randomly found it by the side of the road for sale after my uncle sold it to a stranger) and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what the holes in the trunk might be for. Neither my Grandpa nor Uncle are around anymore but my Grandpa used to say he thought AAA had badges that might fit there. Any ideas? Thanks! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 most of those were often mounted to the license plate.....I was thinking Masonic lodge or other such fraternal organization 1 Quote
oldblue47 Posted November 26, 2016 Author Report Posted November 26, 2016 Oh, that might be. It would be the right shape. Quote
DrDoctor Posted November 26, 2016 Report Posted November 26, 2016 Plymouthy Adams’ comment does make a great deal of sense, as most members of such fraternal organizations were proud of that fact, and didn’t mind mounting a badge for their lodge semi-permanently to their vehicle. The AAA badges that I’ve seen weren’t designed to be so mounted, but rather with one of the top bolts/screws of the vehicle’s license plate. Thx. Quote
