Plymouthy Adams Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 dark green could very well indicate a Jasper rebuilt engine as this was their color. Look for a rebuild tag on the block just above the oil pan on the passenger side. Quote
bobby horne Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 I have have had the 36 engine 21 years, and it set in a barn for about the same amount of time before I got it..there was a small tag on the engine, but can not read it. It does start easy and run very good. Quote
claybill Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 ENGINE COLOR...I LOOKED AT THIS THREAD TITLE FOR A FEW DAYS AND THOUGHT..WHO CARES, PAINT IT WHAT YU WANT. but in a loose moment i read all the answers..interesting how people think, and make decisions, after all that is how we learn, based on other peoples decisions we make our own. So, engine compartments are always dark and dreary...so i painted my fenderwalls and firewall a silver or pewter color for industrial applications..from a rattlecan. and the engine was painted 'that rustoleum hammered gray paint'. it is very hard, strong and resistant to gas and oil. when i open the hood. everything is nice and bright! with a red oilfilter..a few black items, colorful plug wires..etc you have something sharp, logical and stock appearing. claybill Quote
