Good morning All

I recently picked up a 52 panel van,(always wanted one). Its a typical east coast rust bucket. Its still all stock ,running flat head 217 ,trans seems ok ,clutch kinda iffy .

My questions are ,,these body were made from 48 thru 53,correct . Are the parts  interchangeable from year to year, body wise ? ,and is there a Plymouth version of these trucks/vans.

Also am i right in assuming that from the doors forward pick up parts and panel van are the same ,body wise.

And finally anyone know a sourse for body parts,,doors ,front grill , inner wheel wells for inside of the back .

Thanks

Jeff

Welcome panels are cool. Most parts are interchangeable  but there was changes especially in 1951 when the front grill and dash were updated. No Plymouths just Fargo in Canada and Desoto for  other export.  Yes they were built on the pickup platform and are the same.  Best place to start for parts is suppliers in the links directory of this forum and the classified adds in this forum.  For general information a good place to start is a book by Don Bunn titled Dodge B-Series Trucks.

Fenders interchange.....patch panels from the body interchange....you're missing the rear fenders...the wipers from 51 to 53 interchange...the hoods from 51 to 53 interchange...the doors are unique from 48-50, and 51-53...BUT...if you change both doors to said year, ie you put a pair of 48's on a 52, it will work. Steering interchanges from 1950 to 53 and the suspension exchanges on all years referring to 1/2 tons. Engines interchange....dash trim 51-53, knobs 48-53 with a few changes to interior handles work as well. The running boards are unique to panel trucks alone, but 1/2 ton boards can be modified to work by removing some steel. The rear fenders are like hens teeth, defend whatever you find because I will steal them form you. I apologize ahead of time. In a land down under, the Ozzie utes' rear fenders are the same for the USA panel trucks....might need to make a friend in Oz.

"Also, am I right in assuming that from the doors forward pick-up parts and panel van are the same, body wise"...Yes, in respect to 1948 to 50 and then 1951 to 53.

"...anyone know a sourse for body parts, doors, front grill, inner wheel wells for inside of the back"......Check the "Links" and "For Sale" sections here, and KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN!!!!....for panel truck parts.
