RobertKB Posted October 7, 2016 Report Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) When I repainted my 1948 Dodge D25 I asked about pinstriping on the rims and got lots of good information. I am presently working on a 1951 Dodge D39 business coupe. The Canadian Dodge is the same body as a Plymouth but with Dodge trim. The car is painted a green as close as I could get by matching colours. I am wondering if the pinstriping on 1951 rims is the same as on the 1946-48 cars with the three stripes or if it was done differently. I know on the earlier green cars the pinstriping would have been gold/bronze and am wondering if that would still be true for 1951. Any information or better yet, pictures of 1951 or 1952 rims, would be greatly appreciated. Edited October 7, 2016 by RobertKB Quote
dpollo Posted October 7, 2016 Report Posted October 7, 2016 1950 was the last year for pin striping on Canadian cars. Some US models were striped but mostly with a single strip around the hub capand this practice may have continued through 56 but I am not entirely certain. Striping on green cars (pre 51) I have owned was red. Quote
RobertKB Posted October 7, 2016 Author Report Posted October 7, 2016 Thanks, Dave. Looks like I won't pinstripe them at all or maybe go with a single red stripe just for fun. I appreciate your knowledge of Canadian Mopars. Quote
